Hamilton Island Holidays

Hamilton Island is the heart of the Whitsundays, with an International airport and facilities to suit people of all ages and budgets. It has been said that Hamilton Island is too corporatized, yet when you stay a few nights, you find that this is far from the truth.

Hamilton Island is such a relaxed island resort, with a huge range of exciting activities, there is never a moment where you feel boredom setting in. How could you get bored on an island that is right in the middle of paradise!

The largest resort accommodation on Hamilton Island is The Reef View Hotel located on the main beach, Catsey Beach.

The Reef View Hotel is probably the most affordable of all the accommodation and presents a high class of excellence, with comfortable and spacious rooms. Good food, great service and breathtaking views compliment the Reef View's rooms.

We highly recommend the Reef View Hotel and it is our choice of accommodation when we stay and play on Hamilton Island. Love the pool and the gorgeous views from the "sea view" rooms..

Lunch by the pool at Hamilton Island Resort Centre.

Palm Bungalows are self contained units rated as 3 star and is the best option for the budget minded holiday maker. There are several other options which you can find on the Hamilton Island website, from apartment living to pure luxury exclusive resorts such as the qualia, where Oprah spent a few nights.

All the islands restaurants are first class, serving delicious cusine in a wide range of menu styles. Down by the marina there is a bakehouse, fish and chips shop and pizza parlour for those who want a quick snack or take away. Surprisingly prices are quite reasonable considering the island has a captive audience.

There are literally dozens of activities to keep the most active person fully occupied. Island guests can use most of the resorts pools along the beachfront.

The Resort Centre is the real hub of activity with two large pools overlooking the ocean, a fabulous restaurant where you can dine overlooking Catseye Beach and several boutique stores for those who like shopping. There are swim-up bars, snorkeling lessons and pool activities to keep everyone happy.

Image of snorkeling with turtleThe Resort Centre is also where you find the beach activities like snorkeling the fringing reef, kayaking, wind surfing, paddle boarding and learning to sail a catamaran. I can highly recommend snorkeling on Hamilton Island's fringing reef.

That's me to the right snorkeling with a turtle.

The coral is good and the marine life awesome. There is nothing better than snorkeling with turtles and the fringing reef is home to several beautiful creatures. Get yourself an underwater camera, the photos you can take home are magical.

Golf, jetski, sail, swim or just soak up the seemingly endless sun, just a few of the incredible things you can do on Hamilton Island. Take a cruise to Whitehaven Beach, snorkel the Great Barrier Reef or enjoy a sunset drink or two at One Tree Hill, the best vantage point to watch the sun go down across the Whitsunday Passage. Tennis, quad bike, bushwalking, spas, massage, learn to dive or leart to paint, the activities list is almost endless.

Once you spend a few days on Hamilton Island you will fall in love with it. I live in the Whitsundays and love Hamilton Island as part of my backyard. Most locals enjoy staying at the various island resorts in the Whitsundays and yes, we often go over and spend a few days at Hamilton Island because it really is a part of paradise.

Come to Hamilton Island! You will love it!
