This is a beautiful part of the world and very relaxed lifestyle. The Airlie Beach Hotel is a perfect place to chill out for a few days but it is a bit more expensive than the backpackers we had stayed in around Australia. Having said that it was fantastic to live in luxury for a few days and we really enjoyed the Airlie Beach Hotel for the rooms, and the location which is fairly central to everything. Stay here if you want upmarket.

We stayed at the Airlie Beach Hotel after being recommended to the hotel by a friend. We were told to make sure we booked the deluxe room so we had sea views and everthing our friends said about the hotel was spot on. We walked to the lagoon for a swim and the main town was about 5 minutes walk. Rooms were great and staff friendly and very helpful. Would definately stay there again in future.
