Main Beach at Hamilton Island Hamilton Island is the largest inhabited island in the Whitsundays group and is almost purely used for tourism purposes. With it's own International Airport, fabulous temperature all year round and some of the best water activities you can find anywhere, Hamilton Island attracts tourists from near and afar.

The Fantasea 2 island cruise from Shute Harbour allows you to spend around 2 1/2 hours enjoying the facilities of Hamilton Island, the beaches, the bars and the atmosphere. Then reboard the luxury catamaran for the fabulous Whitehaven Beach cruise.

The best way to get around and make the most of your time on Hamilton Island, is by hiring a golf buggy and self driving to ensure you see all the sights while on the island. There is a free shuttle bus that you can use to hop on and hop off at particular sight seeing spots around the island. the shuttle bus passes each stop every 15 minutes and is great for those on a budget.

Make sure you are back at the Hamilton Island Marina in time for your trip to Whitehaven Beach. If you are late, you will be left behind.

The buffet luncheon on board the Fantasea vessel, after leaving Hamilton Island, is sumptuous, so don't eat too much while enjoying the amenities on Hamilton Island. Leave room for some great sausages, chicken kebabs, steak and salad.

Whitehaven Beach Going Swimming. Crystal clear water and amazing white silica sand make a spectacular impression when first landing at Whitehaven Beach. Walk the 7 kilometer length of the beach and listen to the silica sand squeak beneath your feet. Use the supplied beach facilities, go snorkeling, take a hike and enjoy exploring the island or just soak up the sun, Whitehaven Beach is indeed a special place in paradise.

From July through to September it is possible that you may see whales migrating during the winter months, so keep your eyes open.

Prices start around $145.00 per adult with children and seniors concessions available. Car Park is available at Shute Harbour and there is secured parking close by. Tansport to and from most Airlie Beach accommodation can be arranged.

Whitehaven Beach Whitsundays The 2 Island Cruise gives plenty of time on both Hamilton Island and Whitehaven Beach. The cruise itself takes about 30 minutes from Shute Harbour to Hamilton Island and around 40 minutes from Hamilton Island to Whitehaven Beach.

Once at Whitehaven Beach you can go ashore on specially designed landing craft or choose to swim to shore. During stinger season, it is wise to wear stinger suits to protect you from the dangers of possible jellyfish bites. Fantasea crew will help you select stinger suits, which are supplied on request.

Fantasea also supplies free beach tents and a variety of beach equipment while on Whitehaven Beach. Once back onboard, afternoon tea is provided while cruising back to Hamilton Island. You land back at Shute Harbour between 5.00pm and 5.30pm. This is really a wonderful cruise and worth every cent, as just cruising the fabulous Whitsundays is an experience you will never forget.
