Photography Workshops

You can experience a great holiday destination, see the best local attractions and make your travel photographs pop, by selecting a photography course when planning your next get away.

Many highly experienced photographers hold courses in exotic locations. You will not only receive expert photography tuition, you are offered a package that generally will give discounted accommodation plus personal tours to the best local attractions, where you are likely to come home with stunning photographic memories.

For example, my partner just attended such a course on the beautiful Hamilton Island. The Away in the Whitsundays – Art of Photography Course was hosted by 3 Grand Masters of Photography, David Oliver, Peter Eastway and Bruce Pottinger. Participants received personal tuition in landscape, portrait, aerial and post production techniques that would take their images to the next level.

Participants were also taken to the best locations for photography in the Whitsundays where they experienced “doors off” helicopter flights, bush walks to the most stunning lookouts and a thrilling jetboat ride across the azure waters of the tropical Whitsundays.

There was a mock-up wedding in the Hamilton Island Chapel and naturally the beach was the favored location for the after “wedding” photos of the happy couple.

Many photographers hold a course like this where you will not only learn from experts, you will experience the location from where these highly skilled people take their best shots. Their photographs are the ones travel agents and tour companies buy to advertise or use in promotional material, selling their product to you. Why not come home with the best experience possible and the photos to prove it?

Group tours can be fun, and when you have the added advantage of learning from experts, even if you only want to take better photos of your children or grandkids, a course such as this in a beautiful destination is something you will look back on with pleasure.

It doesn’t matter what country you live in, there will be courses you can take. The important thing is to learn what you can, enjoy the location and have fun.

Think it’s time to check out some more courses and I’ll certainly be booking ahead for next years Hamilton Island “Away in the Whitsundays” workshop.
