Taronga Zoo, Sydney, is a special place and one the most visited attractions in this wonderful city. The collection of animals is the largest by any zoo in Australia and the views across the harbour to the city are simply breathtaking. No other zoo in the world can boast a location with stunning vistas behind open animal enclosures quite like that of Taronga Park Zoo.

There are several special guided tours of Taronga Zoo that you can reserve. The first is a guided tour of the Australian Animals enclosure with a senior zoo guide who will introduce you to the platypus, echidnas and kangaroos. You will be walked through the Backyard to Bush exhibit , seeing lizards and other native animals up close with expert commentary, teaching you about the unique habits of the animals.

You can also book Taronga's Wild Australia Experience Tour where you not only get to experience animals up close and have the opportunity to feed animals such as kangaroos, you also visit a real working "animal kitchen" and see how all the food is prepared, plus tour behind the scenes in the Australia's Nightlife House and enjoy encounters with nocturnal creatures.

Zoo seal show image There are also some free animal shows such as the Free Flight Bird Show at 12pm and 3.00pm and everybody's favorite the Free Seal Show at 11.00am and 2.00pm each day. Get to the show arenas a little before each showing to get a good seat.

Just take a look at this show off seal in the photo. It is actually smiling and if you get a good seat near the front, you will have a great spot from which to watch the show.
