Sheraton On The Park Review
Sydney
is really a fabulous town for the traveler and it doesn't matter if
you visit Sydney on business or pleasure, the city has that something
extra that makes it special each time you return. But it is the range
of accommodation that gives each traveler a unique experience and today,
we here at Funtours, can say we have found accommodation at an affordable
price we can actually rave about.
Sheraton on the Park surpassed all our expectations and provided us
with more than just a base to explore Sydney. Having taken the lower
end accommodation special, "room with breakfast included"
for just on $200 per night for 2 people, we were surprised at the luxury
of the room, spacious bathroom, walk in robe and general room quality,
right from the moment we entered our given accommodation.
We arrived from the airport by taxi, (cost about AUD $25), staff took
our bags, ushered us to reception where check in was fast and efficient
and we were taken to our room all in the matter of 5 minutes from arrival.
One of the most painless and efficient check-in processes at any hotel
you could experience.
As stated above, rooms were well presented with king size, comfortable
beds, wide screen television, ample storage space, lounge chair and
a good desk for your computer. Very spacious rooms, modern, clean and
comfortable.
Enter
the bathroom and black marble features give a real feel of luxury. Again
it is very spacious, with separate shower stall, large bath tub and
large mirror over the hand basin.
You have tea, coffee and hot chocolate provided, a well stocked mini
bar which is extra, Internet access if required, a good supply of bathroom
needs including shampoo and body wash and a safe for your valuables
that is located in the walk-in robe. Probably everything you need for
a relaxing stay within a busy city.
They say location is everything. That saying is so true, and it's probably
even more important in a large and strange city. I deem the location
of Sheraton on the Park as perhaps the prime spot to be in Sydney, apart
from staying right on Circular Quay. You are just a block away from
Pitt St Mall, which has all the shops such as Myers, David Jones stores
are virtually within meters of the hotel's doors and the Sydney Tower
is just a block away.
You are in walking distance to some of Sydney's major attractions.
The Sydney Museum, Barracks Museum, Mint and Government House are close
by. St Marys Cathedral, St James church, which is the oldest church
in Australia are also close to the Sheraton Hotel and you are directly
across the road from Hyde Park, where you can spend a quiet lunch or
several hours marveling at the impressive Archibald Fountain, Anzac
War Memorial with reflection pool or beautiful and well presented Sandringham
Gardens. Hyde Park is a photographers gem field.
Shops,
theatres, and transport are all within a few paces. St James Station
is across the road, buses to everywhere have stops in both Elizabeth
St and Castlereagh St, the monorail is just a block from the hotel and
there are always taxis at the front entrance rank. Sheraton on the Park
can pretty well boast of being in the perfect location.
I know which hotel we will make home when next in Sydney and urge you
to experience this wonderful, yet affordable hotel when you make a visit
to this fabulous city. Don't bother paying exorbitant prices for hotels
on Darling Harbour or Circular Quay, give Sheraton on the Park a try,
you won't be disappointed! It's a true five star hotel at an affordable
price.
