User Review Nautilus Resort Apartments Mooloolaba
Situated
on River Esplanade, just a block from the Mooloolaba Beach, surf club
and beach esplanade, Nautilus Resort Mooloolaba is really in a prime
position for a fun holiday getaway on the fabulous Queensland Sunshine
Coast.
The location of the Nautilus Mooloolaba couldn't be better, with the
Mooloolaba Wharf complex virtually across the road, which houses the
popular Underwater
World Aquarium, marina and is the staging point for the fabulous
canal cruise, a cruise that builds dreams.
The facilities at Nautilus Mooloolaba are very good, with a great heated
resort pool and spa plus children’s wading pool , mini golf, gym, tour
desk and undercover secure parking. There is a Thai Restaurant connected
to the resort which is independent of Nautilus, which is very popular
and serves delicious Asian style meals. The resort also has a barbecue
entertainment area if you want to do your own outdoor cooking near the
pool.
The
Nautilus accommodation isn't new or overly luxurious, yet is very comfortable
and clean. Beds are great, no backaches or lumpy mattresses, and the
lounge area has nice divans for the times when you are relaxing or watching
television. They are decked out in older style furniture, so certainly
don't fall under the luxurious banner.
The Nautilus is one or two bedroom apartment accommodation. As apartment
accommodation they are not serviced daily, which is pretty standard
for most apartment hotels. The advantage of staying in apartment accommodation
is that you usually get full kitchen facilities and laundry, which means
you can take less clothes and save money by cooking your own meals.
Most bathrooms have a spa bath, great after a day on the beach or those
long tourist walks. The small kitchen is equipped with all the necessary
tools and dishes etc. Full laundry facilities include washing machine
and dryer and all apartments are air-conditioned.
The big pros with the Nautilus is the position and the price. For a
resort this close to all the major facilities at Mooloolaba, the price
is very reasonable, with a two bedroom apartment just over $200 a night,
or one bedroom rooftop spa also around the $200 a night mark.
Another
plus is the position. You can literally park the car and walk everywhere.
Underwater World is just a couple of minutes from the door. Mooloolaba
Surf Club on the corner and the free bus to Australia
Zoo picks up and drops off again, at the bus stop across the road.
Reception will book your seat on the bus for free, and I must add that
reception is the best and most helpful we have found anywhere.
On the downside, the sea views are glimpses at best.
But being only a few paces from the beach this isn't really a big deal.
Rooms are a little oldish, yet everything works, but a revamp would
make the Nautilus first class once more.
The entrance to the underground carpark is from the street at the rear
of River Esplanade.
We rate the Nautilus highly as an affordable accommodation option on
the Sunshine Coast. It is the position that is fabulous and the price
just right. We stayed at the Nautilus Resort Mooloolaba for 4 nights
and would use the Nautilus as a base next time we visit
the fabulous Sunshine Coast.
