Scenic Wildlife Adventure and Lord of the Rings Safari
The Queenstown area was extensively used by Peter Jackson, the films director, as the backdrop for Middle Earth. Some of the more notable scenes included Gandalf riding to Gondor, The Pillars of the King on the River Anduin, Ford of Bruinen and Lake Wakatipu was used for scenes involving Lothlorien, an ancient forest. You will have the opportunity of seeing Red Deer, Llama and Bison which are farmed in the area. At this stop there will be ample photo opportunities and you can even take a turn at feeding the animals. Some are so friendly that they will actually eat from your hands. You are sure to enjoy this fabulous tour with morning or afternoon departures available.
