Welcome to New Zealand's best tourist destination Queenstown
Come with us as we explore the attractions, review accommodation and suggest thrilling things to do and places to see, in this most beautiful part of the world called Queenstown.
Queenstown
is arguably the main tourist destination of all South Island cities
and certainly has the growing reputation of being the adventure capital
of New Zealand. Built around the shores of Lake
Wakatipu not only is Queenstown a beautiful place to visit, it is
a wonderful town to call your home.
Famous for the multitude of spectacular sightseeing opportunities in
nearby Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound, visitors have a selection of
the best ski slopes during the snow
season, great trout fishing and thrilling adventure rides such as
the Shotover River white water rafting and mind blowing jetboat rides.
The area around Queenstown was chosen by Peter Jackson, director
of Lord of
the Rings trilogy, for may of the scenes depicting Middle-earth.
Locations such as the Road to Mordor, Misty Mountains, Pillars of the
Kings, The Ford of Bruinen, Paradise, Lothlorien, Amon Hen, Isengard
and The Ithilien Camp will be forever etched in the minds of movie buffs
and are now tourist attractions in their own right. There are guided
tours that you can take to these stunning areas.
You have to take the Skyline Gondola up to Bob's Peak and marvel at
the panoramic views and across Lake Wakatipu to the mountains beyond,
just spectacular.
Use the navigation to the left to learn about the many spectacular
things to do and the best hotels and guesthouses to stay in while your

and write a review about the time you have had in Queenstown, (good
or bad), so that others may gain from your experiences.
