Port Douglas Daintree Forest Tour with Wildlife Sanctuary & Daintree River Crocodile CruiseThis 4 wheel drive tour takes you into some of the most pristine areas in the world. The Daintree Forest is a world heritage listed region and the beaches at Cape Tribulation is a natural unspoiled paradise. You will also have the opportunity to spot a few man eating saltwater crocodiles on the Daintree River Cruise, and enjoy a host of other native Australian animals that are much more pleasant than those dangerous crocs. To commence the tour, you first take a visit to the Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary Port Douglas and see a fabulous collection of Australian Wildlife. There are koalas, kangaroos, many species of colourful birdlife and you have the opportunity to pat kangaroos and possibly get your photo taken holding a koala. Leaving the Wildlife Sanctuary, you will travel along the Captain Cook Highway to the Daintree River, where you cross the river by cable ferry. You then go through amazing rainforest to Cape Tribulation.
Take a walk through the Daintree Rainforest, stroll along the pristine beach and soak up the amazing atmosphere here on the edge of civilization. There is almost no other communities between Cape Tribulation and the tip of Australia, so you really are in a place that many have never been. You have lunch at the Coconut Beach Rainforest Lodge where you can also go for a refreshing swim. Back to the Daintree River after lunch for an hours cruise. Here you can spot saltwater crocodiles and other fabulous wildlife and learn of the importance to the ecosystem of the mangroves. The Daintree River Crocodile Cruise is probably the highlight of the day. Make sure you have your camera ready as you must take home a photo of the man eating crocodiles. You will arrive back in Port Douglas around 5.30pm. Cairns and Palm Cove transfers continue from this time. Prices start around $160 pp. Includes lunch and all entry fees. Tour duration is 10 to 11 hours depending on your pick up point. Tour can commence from your hotel in either Cairns, Palm Cove or Port Douglas. Please indicate at time of booking.
