I first stayed at the Marco Polo Motel about 15 years ago on a trip to Cairns. It was a pleasant stay then and it still is today. Thankfully they have refurbished the rooms since then so it's not exactly the same as it was, but the service is still great and you can't get a better location. Right on the Bruce Highway and only a couple of kilometers from the beaches. I love Mackay and would love to retire there one day soon.
