Blacks Beach Mackay
One of the favorite northern beaches just a fifteen to 20 minute drive
from Mackay is
the picturesque Blacks Beach. Great for swimming, relaxing, beach walks
and fantastic beach fishing, Blacks beach also boasts a nice picnic
area with toilets, free BBQ, seats and cold showers.
During all school holidays, Blacks Beach is patrolled by the Mackay
Surf Lifesaving Club, a service welcomed by the local residents.
Blacks Beach is a fast growing suburb of Mackay, yet the beach retains
all the charm of a hidden gem, with ample room for all.
Car parking spaces at the beach are limited, but there is parking along
the street leading to the car park area. Blacks Beach reserve is at
the end of Bourke Street.
You get to Blacks Beach from Mackay by taking the Mackay Bucasia Road,
turning right at the large roundabout near the Northern Beaches shopping
centre, head toward Eimeo and turning right again into Blacks Beach
Road. Follow Blacks Beach Road just past the new Blacks Beach shopping
centre and make a left turn into Bourke St.
Bourke St also houses the Seawinds Caravan Park and the Comfort Resort
Blue Pacific Hotel Mackay. The Shores holiday apartments and units are
located at 9 Pacific Dve Blacks Beach. A fast growing residential area,
there are a number of current housing developments within walking distance
of the beach
