We needed somewhere to stay for a week as our child was in the
Cairns Base Hospital just a few blocks away from the Plaza Hotel.
We didn't want to spend a fortune so chose the Plaza Hotel because
of price as well as the location. Couldn't rate the hotel more
highly. Staff were fantastic and upgraded us to a suite for
no extra cost. Rooms were great and we had glorious views. Restaurant
serve great food and I can't thank management enough for treating
us so well in a time where we were pretty low, because of our
child's health.

Nice hotel but nothing fantastic. I probably expected more than
what we got but am told this is a hotel on the lower price scale
so that would maybe explain the quality. To me it needs a refurbish.
The location is good, close to everything, just a 10 minute
walk to the cruise terminal and the Esplanade is a great place
to hang out. I should have checked the ratings as it is only
3 star hotel and I am used to staying in a little more luxury.
Can just say nice staff in good spot.
