Nice hotel but everything at Ayers Rock is terribly expensive.
Staff were excellent and rooms clean and very comfortable. We
stayed 3 nights and used the restaurant on all but one occasion.
Good food but service a little slow. This seems to be the top
hotel, but as I said at the beginning, way overpriced like everything
at the resort.

Where ever I go in the world, I want to stay in first class
hotels. Why? Because you always get what you pay for no matter
what and Sails in the Desert was a good example of that philosophy.
Miles from anywhere the Sails hotel operates to a 5 star service.
My lovely wife and myself thought this to be as good as any
we have stayed at. We thought this area of Australia was fantastic,
like going back to the beginning of time. Such a beautiful,
yet rugged place.

Accommodation is very expensive at Ayers Rock Resort so we thought
we would spoil ourselves for 3 nights and stay at what was touted
as the best hotel in the resort complex. Rooms are nice and
the hotel looks a treat. My only grumble is that there doesn't
seem enough staff to handle the many tourists that come and
go. This is a very high tourist destination, but perhaps it's
hard to attract workers to such a remote area. Anyway we enjoyed
the hotel.

Very expensive and poor service. Food was tasteless and cold.
We had better food taking a tour in the morning to see the rock
change color, with breakfast supplied. Just not worth the money.
