Not the greatest hotel but it was certainly in a fabulous location.
Staff were a little slow at checkin, restaurant served nice
food but again staff seemed a little disinterested and rooms
were adequate to poor. All up I would stay there again just
for the location. We could walk to the marina and catch ferries
and laze out around the waterfront. Fantastic spot.

I like to make reviews of hotels and try to be totally honest
as sometimes a small irritation for one guest can make a hotel
seem like a complete dump. I travel the world regularly so read
others reviews and rely on their experiences, so like to make
my own contribution also.
The Mercure Hotel in Auckland has smallish rooms and they are not furnished in modern style. Rooms are no smaller than most budget hotels around the world so it's no big deal. Staff were about average, did what they had to do and no more, fairly typical where tipping is not expected. Location is fabulous. I will use the Mercure again when next in Auckland as the price is reasonable, rooms fair and location excellent.

We were recommended to the Mercure Hotel by friends who said
that they enjoyed the location. We also found the location to
be excellent and the hotel quite nice. Our room had a very nice
view of the Sky Tower and they were clean. Bed was comfortable
and everything worked. Staff were okay, they did their job and
gave us directions so couldn't ask for more than that. We would
stay at the Mercure again.
