Leaving Alice Springs by 4WD, you travel to the Finke River and the journey to Palm Valley. Palm Valley is noted for the relic cabbage palm Livistona Mariae. It is a wonder how these palms have lasted in the arid land of Central Australia since the beginning of time and really is one of the most popular tourist attractions outback of Alice Springs. You have the opportunity to hike to Kalarranga Lookout and then Cycad Gorge. This country is awesome and very remote, so you seem to travel backwards in time.
